Aryna Sabalenka

Sabalenka is Belarusian born in Minsk. Sergey Sabalenka (d. 2019) is her father who plays hockey. Aryna Sabalenka was born Minsk, Belarus on May 5th, 1998. Her professional career has seen her win twelve WTA singles championships, which includes a Grand Slam in the Australian Open in 2023. The doubles play she plays is superb, and she won Majors in her first major tournaments, the US Open (2019) and Australian Open (2021), both of which were together with Elise Mertens. Also, she achieved her Sunshine Double in 2019, by winning the WTA 1000 at Indian Wells, Miami and the Australian Open along with Elise and Mertens. The feat was achieved by four couples playing in the women's doubles. On 23 August 2021 she was ranked second in the world singles ranking her highest ranking was again reached in the month of January in 2023. When she played doubles, she managed to push her way to the top in February of the same year after the victory in Melbourne becoming thus the second tennis player from Belarus to be a part of the sport of doubles. Dmitry Tursunov coached her between 2018 and the end of 2019, and also in the part of early 2020. Dieter Kindlmann coached her briefly from August 2020 to September. Antonio Dubrov, her fellow nationman, has been her coach from the year 2020. Serena Williams & Maria Sharapova are her main inspirations.
